Let Her Stay in the Race

The people that voted for Barack Obama, us non-hard working Americans, have figured out a long time ago that both Bill and Hillary Clinton are evil monsters.  Unfortunately, the individuals that did vote for her have been under the false impression that Senator Clinton is a good, honest, and decent human being.  Slowly, they are beginning to see the light.

Every day that Hillary Clinton stays in this race, she shows her true colors.  It's taken the events of the past few days for her most ardent supporters to see that she is intent on destroying the Democratic party in order to rise to power.  Recently, she claimed that the poor, white folk that voted for her would not vote for Senator Obama in the general election.

Amy Poehler shows the real Hillary Clinton in classic fashion on Saturday Night Live.  I couldn't have said it better myself.  In fact, Hillary is counting on her racist supporters in the upcoming primary in West Virginia.  In a state that still votes for a former member of the KKK into the U.S. Senate, Hillary's betting she can win there comfortably.  Of course, this won't change the election, but she'll claim that it does.

Game, Set, and Match!!!

Put a fork in HRC.  She is done!  Senator Barack Obama routed the Clinton's in North Carolina by 14%.  Senator Obama outperformed expectations, but more importantly, he will pick up a net of seventeen delegates in the state.  He will also win by a margin of nearly 230,000 votes, thus negating the margin of victory Hillary received in Pennsylvania.

The primary in Indiana has yet to be decided, but it is much closer than expected.  Hillary was hoping for a large victory in the state, but it appears she'll be lucky to win at all.  At best, she will net only 2 delegates out of Indiana.

This race is over!  Even the mathematically challenged folk have to concede that Barack Obama is the winner.

Expect a massive wave of superdelegates to move to Barack Obama over the next few days.  He will reach the magic number of 2,025 in short order.

Despite the obvious, Hillary Clinton stated tonight that she will not drop out of the race.  I suppose she wants to go out on a positive note by winning West Virginia and Kentucky, but the supers do not want this race to continue for two more weeks.

The End is Near

Win North Carolina by more than you lose Indiana and this race will come to a close.  That is what Barack Obama likely has to do for a mass wave of super delegates to declare support for him.  If we are to believe the polls, he will win North Carolina by 7% and lose Indiana by 6%.  That should be enough for the supers to end this charade.

To put Hillary 'Eight Belles' Clinton out of her misery, Senator Obama needs to reach 2,025 total delegates.  He currently has 1,747.  He should pick up about 95 more delegates tomorrow night out of the 187 at stake.  That would put him at 1,842, only 183 delegates shy of officially becoming the Democratic nominee.  There are 268 undeclared supers, so if Obama gets 2/3 of them, we can put Clinton down once and for all.

That superdelegate figure may sound large, but Senator Obama has been receiving the vast majority of them since Super Tuesday.  All he has to do is get them to declare, which should be easier to do after tomorrow.   The Democratic leadership wants this to be over as much as anyone.  If Obama does win NC comfortably, the pressure on the supers to pick a side will be immense.

Obama Wins Guam!

Senator Barack Obama won the caucus in the U.S. territory of Guam.  With 100% of the precincts reporting, the Illinois candidate for President finished with 2,264 votes.  Clinton had 2,257 votes.

The pledged delegates will likely split 2-2, but there are four undeclared superdelegates who have waited to cast their vote for either candidate.  The Obama victory could move them in his direction.

Even though Guam is small, the math just got even harder for the corrupt, knee-capping, pandering shrew from New York.

Five Years After 'Mission Accomplished'

It's hard to believe it has been five years since the Worst President Ever flew to an aircraft carrier in the Pacific and declared victory in the war in Iraq.  A total of 3,924 American soldiers have died since the President stated that "major combat operations in Iraq have ended."  Tens of thousands more have been seriously injured.  In addition, thousands upon thousands of Iraqi citizens have also lost their lives.

In typical political fashion, the President later said that the 'Mission Accomplished' banner did not actually mean victory in Iraq, but rather victory by the crew of the USS Abraham Lincoln for completing their ten month assignment.  Isn't it a shame the media allows blatant lies to go unchallenged?

Contrary to the banner, the mission in Iraq has been a complete disaster.  There is no end in sight, especially if John McCain becomes president.  McCain would continue the non-existent Bush strategy in Iraq and five years will quickly grow to ten.

This President did accomplish one thing on this anniversary of mission accomplished.  He set the modern record for the highest disapproval rating ever recorded for a U.S. President.  A full 71% of the American public disapproves of this monster.  No president, not even Richard Nixon, had a disapproval percentage above 70%.  Congratulations George!

Memo to Reverend Wright:  Shut the F Up!

The crazy, bible-thumping, lunatic pastor Jeremiah Wright is back at it, making ridiculous statements and giving the braindead mainstream media more fodder to play with.  Speaking before the National Press Club, Wright re-iterated that the American government created the AIDS virus to commit genocide against African-Americans.  Whatever Jeremiah Wright says after that outrageous statement doesn't matter.  That proclamation alone should give him a one-way ticket to the loony bin.

Jeremiah Wright is like a godsend to Hillary Clinton and the GOP.  Every time he opens his mouth, he makes Barack Obama look terrible.  Of course, he doesn't speak for President Senator Obama, but the media will pretend that he does.

What's pathetic in this whole situation though is that the media is latching onto this man's commentary as if he matters.  He doesn't.  He belongs in the same category with Pat Robertson and Jerry Falwell.  They are old, stupid, backwards men who say dumb things to get a rise out of people and to get on television.

Unfortunately, the media is more clueless than Jeremiah Wright.  They only report on outlandish behavior.  Whether it's Brittany Spears or Ann Coulter or Rosie O'Donnell, the media is only concerned with boosting ratings.  The numbers don't go up with rational discussion about the issues.  They only go up with inflammatory reports.  Don't expect anything to change.

The Pledged Delegate Race is Over

Hillary Clinton will win Pennsylvania by about 10%, but she will pick up only 16 delegates on Senator Barack Obama.  The delegate breakdown projects to be 87-71.  Therefore, Obama will carry a commanding 150 delegate lead into North Carolina and Indiana.  He is leading comfortably in North Carolina and is slightly behind in Indiana.

North Carolina and Indiana vote on May 6th.  The worst case scenario is that Obama breaks even in pledged delegates in those two states.  It is more likely that he increases his delegate lead back to where it started tonight.

Either way, after May 6th, there will be only five states and one territory remaining.  Three of those states favor Senator Obama (OR, MT, SD), while two favor Senator Clinton (WV, KY)The one territory favors Clinton (PR).

The bottom line is that there are not enough pledged delegates left for Hillary Clinton to win that battle.  In fact, it would be almost impossible to get Obama's lead under 100.  Most superdelegates will not want to overturn the will of the voter.  If the pledge delegate numbers aren't close (and they won't be), the supers will continue to move to Senator Obama.

In a few weeks the math will become obvious, even to braindead politicians.  I predict that Hillary concedes on May 7th, right after losing North Carolina.

All Eyes on Pennsylvania

Polls in the Keystone State open in less than ten hours and it can't come soon enough.  There hasn't been an election in six weeks and the two Democratic candidates have been hammering each other nonstop.  Ok, it's really just been Hillary doing the negative campaigning, but she's trying really hard to persuade everyone that Barack's the one being negative.

By the math, Hillary needs to win Pennsylvania by at least 25%.  Anything less and she'll never catch Obama in pledged delegates or popular vote.  There are only seven states (and two territories) left after PA and time is running out on Hillary.

According to RealClearPolitics, Obama leads by 166 pledged delegates.  If Hillary wins PA by 6%, she'll only cut into Obama's lead by 10 delegates.  If she wins by 10%, she'd still only capture 16 net delegates.  At the end of the night, Obama will continue to hold a commanding lead in pledged delegates.

I'm afraid that if Hillary wins PA by even one vote, she will stay in the race and drag this thing out until at least May 6th when North Carolina and Indiana vote.  She will refuse to do the math.

If Clinton wins PA by less than 5%, expect a large number of superdelegates to move to Obama's corner.  Remember that Hillary was ahead in Pennsylvania by 17% only four weeks ago and the demographic is completely in her favor.

If she wins by high single digits, expect nothing to change from what we've seen the last six weeks.  If she does somehow win by double-digits, you'll see a pause in superdelegate movement until NC and IN.  Stay tuned.

I'm Bitter!  How About You?

Some people are in a tizzy over Barack Obama's recent comments that voters in small towns in America are bitter and angry.  He stated that they are bitter because they feel they have been left behind by Washington.  Senator Obama went on to say that these folks often turn to what they can count on.  They rely on their faith, they get frustrated over the influx of illegal immigration, and they vote on gun rights.

Obama's comments were immediately taken out of context by, surprise, Hillary Clinton.  She jumped on his statement and attempted to paint him as some sort of elitist who is condescending to working class folks.  Of course, it's hard to argue that Obama is an elitist considering he was raised by a single, teenage mother who struggled to make ends meet.  It's even more difficult for Hillary to argue the point as she looks down on every human being on Earth.

I am from a small town and I live in a small town.  I can confirm that I am extremely angry, quite bitter, and very frustrated.  I'm angry that our government sends our sons and daughters to fight and die in an unjust war.  I'm angry that I live in a country that tortures human beings.  I'm angry that my government takes more than half of my hard-earned money in taxes for no reason other than to make themselves more powerful.

I'm also frustrated that as a 34-year old man, my entire adult life has had only a Bush or Clinton in the White House...and that it could continue into my forties.  The two worst presidents in the history of the United States have been Bill Clinton and George Bush.  For over fifteen years, I've had to put up with these disgusting, unethical, pathetic, corrupt thugs.  It needs to end.

Obama was right.  We the people are bitter and angry.  A lot of things need to change in this country for us to get happy.

Questionable Earnings from The Clinton's

Of the $109 million the Clinton's earned from 2000-2007, one source of income looks suspicious.  Bill Clinton "earned" $15.4 million from the Yucaipa investment firm from 2003 -2007.  What did he do to earn this massive sum of money, you may ask?  According to Senator Clinton's spokesperson, Bill provided advice on potential investments, advocated on behalf of the fund, and created opportunities for investors to consider investing in the fund.

Now let's consider these three job responsibilities.  First, since Bill Clinton has zero investment experience, providing advice to a group of investment experts on what to buy seems a wee bit far-fetched.  The second and third points appear to be BS.  How does one advocate on behalf of the fund?  Was Bill one of their salespeople?  Also, how do you create opportunities to invest in the fund?  Anyone with enough money should be allowed to invest.

So for being a salesmen and novice investor, the Yucaipa Cos. investment firm paid Bill Clinton $15.4 million over five years.  Not a bad gig if you can get it.

The Yucaipa Companies is a questionable firm in its own right.  It is owned by Ron Burkle, one of the richest people in the world.  A recent Wall Street Journal report showed that one of President Clinton's aides helped arrange a partnership with Burkle.  Interestingly, the partnership dissolved over charges of misused funds.

It's hard to tell exactly why Bill Clinton was paid all this money, but it most certainly was not to provide investment advice.  Much like the rest of his life, this activity falls under the skeptical category.

About Those High Gas Prices

There is a very simple solution to lower gas prices across the country, but no politician is suggesting it.  Democrats like Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton talk about a "windfall" profit tax on oil companies, while Republicans offer up no viable solution.  With gas prices over $3/gallon, the best and fastest solution to reduce the cost is to eliminate the federal and state taxes on gasoline!!!

It's very simple.  For every gallon of gas you pump, the federal government takes 18.4 cents.  Then the state gets a piece of the pie.  The worst offending state is New York, which takes a whopping 42.4 cents per gallon.  The least offending state is Alaska, but even they take 8 cents per gallon.  The combined average tax on the American consumer is 46 cents per gallon.  Eliminate the gas tax completely and you will immediately reduce gas prices.

Of course we know that politicians would never, ever get rid of the gas tax.  Democrats never reduce taxes and Republicans will never bring it up for fear of shining the spotlight on their beloved oil industry.

Politicians would rather tax something rather than eliminate a tax.  I am a huge fan of Barack Obama, but if he decides to tax American corporations for making a large profit, which is what they're supposed to do, he should have his head examined.  The windfall profit tax is one of the worst ideas I have ever heard of.  It is anti-capitalism and anti-American.  It would set a precedent that allows a politician to decide how much profit is too much, which is a frightening thought.

Fighting Escalates in Iraq

The biggest myth put forth by the media and Republicans is the so-called "troop surge" in Iraq.  First of all, there was no surge.  The level of troops in Iraq is no different than at many different points over the course of the five year Iraq war.  Secondly, the surge did not reduce violence in Iraq.  Violence has been reduced because of a ceasefire established with Moqtada al-Sadr and his Mehdi Army.

The radical al-Sadr agreed to a six-month ceasefire in late August, 2007.  The violence quickly abated, but the media only focused on the troop surge.  The ceasefire was set to expire on February 23, 2008, but Moqtada al-Sadr agreed to extend the ceasefire for another six months.  Unfortunately, his men want to fight and they are not too thrilled about extending the ceasefire.

The Mehdi Army does not want to lose control of the streets to Iraqi police, which is controlled by the government.  There are already reports of the two clashing.  This is just the tip of the iceberg.  There are many new reports of violence in many parts of the country, including the Green Zone.

Moqtada al-Sadr may only now be realizing that the ceasefire he agreed to has given more power and control to the government.  It has allowed the government time to get their act together.  Unfortunately, the government has not made enough strides in the past seven months to quell his army.

The next few months are crucial to any long-term stability in Iraq.  If the violence continues to escalate back to previous levels, there may be no end in sight.  Since the current U.S. troop level is unsustainable, they will be even less likely to influence the outcome.

Hillary's 1996 Trip to Bosnia

I  know this isn't surprising, but Hillary Clinton has been caught in another bold-faced lie.  In recounting her 1996 trip to Bosnia, Clinton stated that her plane landed "under sniper fire", that the delegation was told to "run to our cars" and that there was not a "greeting ceremony".

Well, it turns out that Hillary lied about the entire episode.  Her campaign is now stating that Hillary "misspoke", which is a Clinton-ism for "I lied".  In fact, since she was the First Lady at the time, there is video of her trip.  She walked off the plane smiling and waving to Bosnian children waiting for her.

In the world of YouTube, we bring you footage of Clinton's actual trip to Bosnia.  Then watch her try to squirm out of her lie when questioned by a reporter.  Now you Clinton supporters who actually think she "misspoke" on this incident, please bear in mind that she's been lying about this Bosnia trip for years!!!

Do we really want this utjob as President of the United States.

Iraq, Five Years Later

It was five years ago today that George Bush decided to invade the Nation of Iraq and overthrow the government.  Five years later, Iraq has devolved into a dangerous, chaotic country with almost no security.  Hundreds of thousands of Iraqis have been killed and millions more have become refugees.

People will argue about whether Iraq is getting safer, but the bottom line is this: The United States has absolutely no right to be there!

Iraq has no nuclear weapons, no chemical weapons, and they pose no threat to the safety and sovereignty of the United States.  They never did.

We need to bring our soldiers home and stop meddling in the affairs of other countries.

Let the Bailouts Begin!!!

It's good to see the federal government spending our hard-earned tax dollars wisely.  In what can only be described as blind stupidity, the Federal Reserve decided to bail-out Bear Stearns (BSC) yesterday to the tune of $30 billion.  That's right, our federal government has officially begun bailing out financial companies for their incompetence.

It all started when Bear Stearns decided to underwrite mortgage-backed securities (MBS).  What is an MBS, you might ask?  These are instruments that represent ownership in pool of mortgages.  Banks typically sell your mortgage and everybody else's to an investment firm who then group them together to create a security.  Think of it as a mutual fund, but with loans in the portfolio instead of stocks.

Well, those geniuses over at Bear Stearns decided not only to underwrite a bunch of mortgage-backed securities, but they did it at 30 times leverage.  They only put up about 3% in actual money to cover tens of billions of dollars of assets.  That is equivalent to buying a $100 stock, but investing only $3 of your own money.

Guess what happens if that $100 stock goes to $95?  You go bankrupt!  Unless of course the federal government is gullible enough to cover you.  In this case, the Fed gave the money to JP Morgan, who then agreed to buy Bear Stearns.  Bear would've filed for bankruptcy on Sunday night if not for this government bailout.

The Fed needs to let most of these financial institutions go under.  They need to let the free market economy figure out the mortgage mess.  This would serve two purposes.  It would kill off the firms that acted improperly and more importantly, it would stop the government from spending our money.

Keith Olbermann Rips Hillary

In a special comment at the end of the Countdown broadcast tonight, host Keith Olbermann ripped Senator Hillary Clinton for her pathetic response to Geraldine Ferraro's racist rant and her overall conduct in this campaign.

The wrath of Keith Olbermann is typically focused on the corrupt Bush administration.  He hosts one of the most liberal shows on television after all.  However, he felt compelled to call out Hillary Clinton and her advisors.  Olbermann pretty much tore her to shreds for using fear and racial tensions to further divide the nation.

To crucify Hillary Clinton on a liberal broadcast is very telling.  It marks a low point for the junior Senator from New York.

I once again call on her to withdraw from the race before she does any more damage to the party and, more importantly, the country.

Obama Wins Mississippi!!!

MSNBC has called the race for Senator Barack Obama.  Exit polls show Obama beating the Monster by a score of 59-41%.  Time for her to withdraw.  She can take the bitter, racist Geraldine Ferraro with her.

Obama Wins Wyoming!!!

Despite visits by Chelsea, Bill, and Hillary, the winner in the State of Wyoming is Senator Barack Obama.  With 78% of the precincts reporting, Obama is dominating 59-40%

Senator Obama has now won 13 of the last 16 elections!  He will likely net two delegates from Wyoming, which will further strengthen his enormous lead.

Next up:  Mississippi

Media Bashing Obama to Prolong Race

It is no secret that the mainstream media's ratings have gone through the roof as a result of the Democratic race between Senator Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton.  Even though Barack Obama has effectively won, the media refuses to admit it.  They are even going so far as to criticize Obama at every turn in order to allow Hillary Clinton to perform well in the upcoming states.

Look no further than the delegate math.  When it became clear that Mike Huckabee could not catch John McCain in delegates, the media took all their 'A' list journalists off Huckabee and asked him every day when he would drop out.  At the time, Huckabee still could've prevented McCain from reaching the delegate number he needed, but Huckabee could not pass him.

The same situation is now true for Clinton.  She cannot catch Obama in pledged delegates.  She can only prevent him from reaching the clinching figure.  So is the media taking off their top journalists and asking her when she'll drop out?!?  Absolutely not!!!  In fact, they are helping her try to close the gap.  They even refuse to vet Hillary's scandal-ridden past.

The media is begging for this to go to a brokered convention.  What better way to boost ratings.

Clinton Nets Only 11 Delegates

Despite all the hype from the braindead mainstream media, Hillary Clinton only gained 11 delegates on Senator Obama.  She netted 9 delegates in Ohio, 4 in Rhode Island, and just 1 in Texas.  She lost 3 in Vermont.

Like I said before, she can't win.  Barack Obama's lead in pledged delegates is still 144, an insurmountable figure.  With Wyoming and Mississippi coming up, he'll likely bump his delegate lead back up toward 155.  That would also give him wins in 14 of the last 17 contests.  That doesn't even include his unofficial win in the Texas caucus.

There is no need to wait seven weeks for Pennsylvania.  Please inform the media.  They seem more concerned with boosting ratings by dragging this out.

Tuesday, March 4, 2008 - 11:59pm

Texas Caucus Undetermined

I couldn't watch Hillary's speech.  It would make me sick to my stomach.  I'm still shocked by how many stupid people live in this country.  I shouldn't be surprised though...after all, George Bush is president.

Currently, Clinton's lead in Ohio is 56-42, with 77% reporting.  Obama is narrowing the gap, which will limit the delegate tally for Clinton.  Her lead in the Texas primary is 50-48 with 56% reporting.

There is still no information on the caucus, but you can be sure that Barack Obama won and that Hillary Clinton will find a lawyer to say that he didn't.

Too Little, Too Late - 11:00pm

Hillary Clinton looks like she's having a very good night.  The problem is that it's too late.  She reminds me of the football team that is losing by three touchdowns in the 4th quarter, but they score a garbage touchdown at the end of the game and claim victory.  Hello, It's already over!

Two hours after Texas closed their polls, the primary is too close to call.  Clinton is currently ahead (50-48, 33% reporting), but this is a win for Obama since it is so close.  Senator Clinton had to win Texas by double-digits and it is clear that she will not.

Clinton has won Ohio (58-40, 56% reporting) comfortably, but not by enough to peel off enough delegates.

Please see the delegate calculator at Slate to see why she can't win.

  |

Hillary Wins RI...Complains about Texas Caucus - 10:20pm

What do we expect from a state that continues to elect Patrick Kennedy to Congress?  Hillary remains ahead in Ohio (57-41, 36% reporting).  The cities of Cleveland, Columbus, and Cincinnati have yet to report.  Obama remains ahead in Texas (50-49, 17% reporting).

Hillary is already complaining about the Texas caucus.  She will probably lose, so expect her to contest these delegates. (more proof she is a sore loser)

Also, if John McCain says "my friends" one more time, I'm gonna throw up.

Texas, Rhode Island, Ohio too Close to Call - 9:20pm

John McCain has officially won the GOP nomination.

Barack Obama has the early lead in Texas (54-45, 2% reporting).  Clinton has the lead in Ohio (60-38, 6% reporting).  Clinton also has the lead in Rhode Island (53-46, 8% reporting).

Ohio too Close to Call - 7:30pm

Sandusky County has extended voting until 9pm.  CNN Exit polls of Ohio show Hillary with a small lead of 51-48.  It could prove to be a long night.

Barack Obama, John McCain Win Vermont!!! - 7:00pm

One down, three to go...

Early Exit Polls - 6:30pm

Two early exit polls are out.  Taking averages: Ohio is tied, Hillary is up by 1% in Texas and by 0.5% in Rhode Island.  Vermont is 2-1 for Obama.

Hillary's Last Stand - 5:30pm

Is the witch dead yet?  Polls in TX and OH moved late in her direction, but not by enough.  Stay tuned....the end of the Clintonistas is near!!!

Saturday, March 1, 2008 - 11:30pm

Why Obama Has Already Won

The Hillary Clinton campaign is very bad at math.  Barack Obama has a nearly insurmountable lead of 155 pledged delegates.  With only sixteen states and territories left to vote, Hillary Clinton would have to win every state by an average of 14% just to catch up to Obama's total.  Currently, she is ahead by 14% in zero of the sixteen contests.  In fact, Obama is projected to win many of them outright.

The political pundits keep stating that Hillary needs to win Ohio and Texas to stay in the race, but they miss the larger story.  Clinton has to win both states by an enormous amount just to dent Obama's lead in pledged delegates.  If she wins by small margins, Obama's delegate lead will remain about the same.

Let's paint a best-case scenario for Hillary Clinton.  We'll be extremely generous and put her down as winning Ohio by 10%, Texas by 4%, and Rhode Island by 15%.  In Ohio, she'd net about 14 delegates.  In Texas, which has a bizarre delegate allocation system, she'd be lucky to gain 10 delegates, even with a popular vote win.  Obama will win Vermont handily, which would cancel out all but one delegate Hillary would pick up in Rhody.

Even in this scenario, Hillary Clinton would gain only 25 pledged delegates on Barack Obama.  This would only cut his lead down to 130.  The next elections are Wyoming on March 8th and Mississippi on March 11th.  Obama is projected to win each of them comfortably.  He'd likely pick up 10 delegates, which would push his lead back to 140.  After Mississippi, there are only ten contests left (including Guam and Puerto Rico).  Most of them favor Obama.

Hillary cannot beat Obama in pledged delegates.  Her only hope is to convince superdelegates to go against the wishes of voters and push her numbers ahead.  That would divide the Democratic party and lead to a brokered convention.  She would destroy the party.

Hillary Clinton needs to withdraw immediately.  She has been smearing Obama continuously since the Potomac primaries and has disgracing herself further.  Her only option is to pack up and go home.

Democratic Debate Thread

9:12pm:  Enough talk about universal health care.  We all know where each candidate stands.  Move past it.

9:17pm:  Hillary looks like a crybaby while whining about the media's supposed pampering of Obama.

9:22pm:  I'm sick and tired of Tim Russert and his ridiculous questions.  Someone tell him that he is not the story.  Just ask the question and shut up!

9:35pm:  There she goes again, claiming the Clinton presidency as her own...she's talking about her extensive foreign policy experience.  Um, she doesn't actually have any.

9:40pm:  Obama is killing Hillary anytime the Iraq War comes up.

9:44pm.  Again, Russert needs to shut his pie hole.  Now he's coming up with random, hypothetical questions on Iraq and interrupting both candidates as they speak.

9:52pm:  That fake Hillary laugh is killing me.

9:59pm:  Did you ever notice that Hillary stares disturbingly at Obama every time he speaks.  Some consultant must have told her it was a good strategy to trip him up.  It reminds me of Al Gore's bizarre debate tactics in 2000.

10:05pm:  Russert interrupts Obama and Hillary again.  Timmy, you are not the focus of this debate.  You are an overweight blowhard who turned Meet The Press into an unwatchable program.

10:08pm:  I officially deem this debate a fraud.  Tim Russert was just about to read off all of Farrakhan's racist rants and then try to associate them with Barack.

10:19pm:  Point to Obama on answering questions on his liberal record.  However, the topic does not generally favor him.

10:22pm:  Foreign policy question on Russia.  Hillary handles it well.  Russert tries a 'Gotcha' question at the end, asking the name of the next Russian leader, but Hillary takes care of that too.  It would've been interesting to see Obama answer this first.

10:28pm:  Obama praising Hillary and delivering a powerful close.

10:34pm:  Hillary has a chance to take the high ground as Obama just did in saying she'd be a better President than John McCain.  She didn't take yet another cheap shot at Barack, so I guess that's a plus for her.

This debate was essentially a draw, with a slight edge to Obama.  Either way, Hillary did not deliver any knock-out blows to the frontrunner.  She needs to win both Texas and Ohio by double-digits just to keep this race going.  She did nothing tonight to demonstrate that she can.

Barack Obama's Experience

Now that Senator Obama has established himself as the frontrunner to be the next President of the United States, everyone is trying to take him down.  John McCain, Hillary Clinton, and the mainstream media are all taking shots at Obama.  The biggest argument they put forth is his supposed lack of experience.  McCain and Clinton call him a naive, empty suit while the media furthers the notion of his inexperience.

So let's take a chronological look at what Barack Obama has done over the course of his life.  Then you can decide if he has enough experience.

  • Graduated from Columbia University.

  • Held two jobs in the private sector in New York City.

  • Moved to Chicago to become a community organizer, helping low-income residents.

  • Completed his J.D. magna cum laude from Harvard Law School.

  • Became Harvard Law Review's first black president.

  • Worked as an attorney with a prestigious law firm in Chicago.  He specialized in voting rights cases and discrimination claims.

  • Taught constitutional law at the University of Chicago Law School for over ten years.

  • Wrote two bestselling books, Dreams from My Father and The Audacity of Hope.

  • Won two Grammy Awards for the audio versions of his books

  • Elected to Illinois Senate in 1996, a position he held for eight years.

  • While in the State Senate, Obama worked on ethics reforms, improving healthcare laws, negotiating welfare reform, and enacting laws to monitor racial profiling.

  • Elected to U.S. Senate in 2004.

  • While in the U.S. Senate, Obama co-sponsored legislation for improved border security and immigration reform.  He worked with Dick Lugar (R-IN) to reduce and dismantle weapons of mass destruction.  He also worked with Tom Coburn (R-OK) and expand transparency and disclosure of entities receiving federal funds.

  • Current member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.  As part of this committee, he has made official visits to Israel, Jordan, the Palestinian Territories, Kuwait, Iraq, Russia, Ukraine, Kenya, South Africa, and more.

I would argue that Senator Obama's experience far surpasses Hillary Clinton and rivals John McCain.  Hillary argues that she has "35 years of experience", but she is including time she spent in the White House doing nothing.  In reality, she hasn't even had a job in eight of the last fifteen years.  Senator Obama has actually held elective office longer than Clinton.

McCain's experience is longer, but is limited to the military and as a politician.  McCain has never held a position in the private sector, unless you count a fluff job his wife's rich dad gave him while he was waiting to run for Congress.  Obama clearly has a wider range of experience in the "real world".

A lot will be made of Barack Obama's so-called "inexperience", but the truth is a far different reality.

Getting Closer in Texas

The latest CNN polling in Texas has Obama within 2% of Hillary.  The primary in Wisconsin is too close to call, with polls going both ways.  However, if Obama sweeps tomorrow and wins Texas on March 4th, this race is over!!!

Clinton Campaign Gets Desperate

Here comes the next wave of attacks.  Now that Senator Barack Obama is beating Hillary Clinton like a drum, she is breaking out cheap, baseless attack ads in Wisconsin ahead of the primary.  Hillary hasn't even campaigned in Wisconsin, but she tries to make the argument that not having a debate in Wisconsin means that Obama will not answer tough questions.

The fact is that Hillary is losing and she is desperate for the free publicity of a debate.  There are two more debates scheduled between Clinton and Obama, but I guess that's not enough for her.  If she was so intent on winning Wisconsin, perhaps she should show up and talk to the citizens of the state...ya know, like Barack's been doing all week.

Obama Buries Hillary in VA, DC, and MD....McCain Wins Ugly

If the Republican race was only between Mike Huckabee and John McCain for all fifty states, McCain would probably lose.  In Virginia, polls had the Senator ahead by over 20% just a few days ago, but he will only win the state by a few percentage points.  Mike Huckabee is surging dramatically as hard-core conservatives flock to him in droves.  The only problem is that he's too late.

On the left, it was another phenomenal night for Barack Obama!  He buried Hillary Clinton in Virginia, a state she campaigned hard in.  With most of the precincts reporting, Senator Obama looks like he'll win by about 27%.  That is an enormous win for Barack.  He is also annihilating Hillary in Washington, D.C. and Maryland.

Huckabee Surges, Obama Sweeps!

Mike Huckabee is making life difficult for John McCain, the presumptive nominee of the Republican party.  Governor Huckabee trounced McCain in Kansas and is ahead in Louisiana.  He may also win in the State of Washington.  If Huckabee takes all three states, John McCain is officially embarrassed.

Senator Barack Obama swept all three states holding elections today plus the Virgin Islands.  He crushed Hillary in Nebraska, Washington State, and Louisiana.  All four wins by Obama were by double digits.  He is moving much closer to the nomination.  The Clinonistas are in real trouble now.

Advantage Obama, McCain

Only one week ago, Hillary Clinton was ahead in nearly every Super Tuesday state.  Tonight, Senator Barack Obama won from coast to coast, capturing a dozen states and coming very close to winning in many others.  Obama dominated the vote in Illinois, Georgia, Kansas, Minnesota, North Dakota, and Colorado.  Hillary Clinton won seven states, with California and Alaska still not declared.

In the Republican side, the coronation of John McCain will have to wait.  While he dominated the Northeast, he lost out to Mike Huckabee in the South and Mitt Romney in the West.

As of this writing, Senator McCain had won seven states, Mitt Romney took six, and Mike Huckabee claimed five.  The State of Missouri is between Huckabee and McCain, while California will be decided between Romney and McCain.

The Democratic race is officially neck and neck, with Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton virtually tied in the delegate race.  The Republican election is also wide open.  McCain will lead the delegate race, but Mitt Romney and Mike Huckabee will still be within striking distance.

My Vote

My primary issue in selecting a presidential candidate is one of trust.  I must be able to trust my president, in part because the last two have been crooks and liars.  The other issue is one of unity.  The last two presidents have torn this country apart with their divisive politics.

Of the four remaining lead candidates left in this race, I deem most of them to be relatively acceptable.  However, one candidate stands out as completely unacceptable.  Hillary Clinton has proven over and over again that she will say and do anything to get to the top.  She has a long history of corruption, from her dealings in Whitewater to illegal trading in the commodities market.  Clinton continues to show her true colors in this 2008 Democratic primary.  She and her husband have injected race into this election in an attempt to further divide the nation.

My belief is that whoever wins the Democratic primary will win the Presidency.  The Democrats are turning out huge numbers of people to vote in these primaries, dwarfing the turnout of Republican voters.  Even in South Carolina, a bedrock conservative state, more Democrats came out to vote than Republicans in the primary.  That is remarkable.  This trend will continue in the general election.

With my desire to stop Hillary Clinton from coming anywhere near the presidency, I will be voting for the only person that can beat her.

Barack Obama is the complete antithesis of Hillary Clinton.  He is an honest, trustworthy man who can inspire a nation.  While I don't agree with all of his positions, I believe he will unite this country.  Therefore, I will take a Democratic ballot tomorrow morning and cast my vote for the junior Senator from Illinois, Barack Obama!!!

Mitt Romney Wins Maine Caucus!!!

You may not know this, but the State of Maine held their caucus today and Mitt Romney won decisively!  Ron Paul and John McCain were battling it out for second place, but they were a solid thirty percent behind Romney.

2008 MAINE REPUBLICAN CAUCUS
(Precincts reporting: 64%)

Mitt Romney - 52%

John McCain - 21%

Ron Paul - 19%

Mike Huckabee - 6%

Unfortunately, the brain-dead mainstream media will barely cover this story.  For some reason, they have assigned far more importance to Iowa and New Hampshire.  They ignore states like Maine and others they deem unworthy.

If the media did cover this race, Mitt Romney might receive a boost going into Super Tuesday.  However, we know that will not happen as the media has already decided that John McCain will be the GOP candidate.
