Degas Dancers 2009 Calendars

Known for his paintings and sculptures, Edgar Degas was one of the original impressionist painters.  He is credited as being one of the originators of impressionism.  He was a Frenchman that was born in 1834 in Paris.  He began painting early on and had his own studio by the time he turned eighteen.  These 2009 Degas calendars focus on his paintings of ballet dancers.  He was a known artist during his lifetime, but became even more renowned in the afterlife.  Edgar Degas passed away in 1917.  He had just begun to gain acceptance as one of the foremost artists of his time.  Ninety years later, in these 2009 calendars, Degas is considered one of the best ever.
