As Major League Baseball expanded in the 1970's, the city of Seattle was awarded a franchise in the Mariners in 1977. It would be the furthest team, in distance, away from any other baseball team. The 2009 Seattle Mariners calendars celebrate 30 years of existence, having won their division three times. They last won the West in 2001 with a record 116 victories. That could be part of the trivia in the Seattle Mariners 2009 daily calendar. This year, the team has not played as well, but still is a spoiler to a number of contenders. At one point they had Ken Griffey Jr., Alex Rodriguez, and Randy Johnson all on the same team. Unfortunately, the Seattle Mariners were not able to keep all those guys because of money issues.
