Airplanes and fighter jets from World War II are
seen above in this 2009 calendar. The war was
fought on two fronts; the battle in the Pacific
against Japan and the fight in Europe over Nazi
Germany. The United States and the allied
aircraft played an extremely important role and
helped bring victory to the Allied Forces.
Some of the fighter planes shown here in this 2009
calendar are the Curtis P-40 Warhawk of the United States, the Supermarine Spitfire Mk of the United Kingdom, the North American P-51A from Canada, and the Polikarpov 1-16 from the Soviet Union. All of these planes helped the Allies win against the German forces.
