In
2001, Republicans signed into law the No Child Left Behind
Act. It was intended to improve primary and secondary
schools in America, but is has been a miserable failure.
These No Child Left Behind t-shirts will get everyone's
attention immediately, as they feature a baby carrying a
machine gun. George Bush praised this law when it was
signed, but it has done more harm than good in the public
school system. The administration has refused to fully
fund the programs in the schools. The Republicans now
take the stance that the monies allocated toward each school
or state in the No Child Left Behind Act were spending caps
and not the amount pledged. They became flip-floppers
so that they could fund several other illegal programs
instead, all to the detriment of schools in America.
These No Child Left Behind t-shirts tell us that there are
children left behind; more than there were before. All
of the funding that was meant to go to them now goes to the
war program. |
